The Great Lakes Bureau is in Toronto, gearing up to start our live coverage, blog and social media coverage of this weeks Great Lakes Public Forum. We’re excited to to hear this international perspective on the progress of both countries since the 2012 Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement. Last week at the Great Lakes Restoration Conference in Sandusky, Ohio, we managed to grab a minute with Lana Pollack, the Chair of the U.S. Section of the International Joint Commission. She told us a little bit about the history of the International Joint Commission, about the upcoming Great Lakes Public Forum, and what the hopes are for that event as well as plans to encourage public involvement in policy making that addresses the environmental needs of the Great Lakes.
The IJC will hold a public comment session as part of the Forum on Wednesday, October 5 from 4:30-6 p.m. Registration to provide a statement during this session is available at ijc.org.
Our live coverage begins tomorrow morning here, at greatlakesnow.org
