America’s Drinking Water Crisis – A Great Lakes Now Special
Great Lakes Now examines how the Flint water crisis is shining a light on global water issues. We interview pediatrician Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, who wrote the book “What the Eyes Don’t See: A Story of Crisis, Resistance, and Hope in an American City,” and journalist Anna Clark, who authored “The Poisoned City: Flint’s Water and the American Urban Tragedy.”
Through their words and a journey to Flint, viewers will learn the background of the crisis and where it stands today. Then we venture to the Society of Environmental Journalists annual conference – this year held in Flint — where we interview journalists, residents, scholars, and advocates about the impact of Flint’s Water Crisis on how journalists cover water issues and the impacts on policymakers.
