Waukesha’s Water Withdrawal History
Waukesha, Wisconsin made history recently by becoming the first city outside the Great Lakes Basin to be allowed to draw water from Lake Michigan for its municipal drinking water source.
But did you know Waukesha made history long ago for its water withdrawing reputation?
It was dubbed “Spring City” in the mid-1800’s for its healing waters from numerous springs.
